about

I am a sad llama and I sing the llama blues.

lyrics

I left the herd in Quito
And my love north of Ottavalo
As she travelled south
My heart was bleeding out my mouth

I left the herd in Quito
Stomping lonely Incan roads
To my right the setting sun
And a metaphor that we were done

I want to stand on mountain high
To trot the paths that meander by
To touch the burning sun

A slow morning in a border town
Out of words, Colombia bound
Unsatisfied with our goodbye
I spat into a sky of greying clouds

I left the herd in Quito
Walking trails that no-one knows
With nothing to proove
My tired dirty hooves on forgotten roads

I want to stand on mountain high
To trot the paths meandering by
To touch the burning sun
With my eyes
But happiness is better shared
And you're no longer there
The absence of your furry neck
Leaves me in deep despair

Oh mi cria llamerita, tu esta non aquí
Me desgarra el alma, que no estás conmi-go
Hay un vacío en mi interior, en cada pico solitario

Where Chimborazo scrapes the sky is the place I'm gonna die
But until I'm in my grave it's gonna be a wild ride
Which I want to share with you, I want you by my side
To be the first thing that I see in the morning light

Won't you throw it all away
To stomp the hills with me
We'll climb closer to the stars
Where the grass is always green
Am I a desperate camel
Are these a mad mammal's dreams?

Won't you throw it all away
Take a chance on me
Kiss the alpine breeze
Dream to insect symphonies
Let's not swallow our silence
And pine for all that hasn't been

Come with me
Ven conmigo
